Good day HIVERS! I'm Mardy, 20 years old, from Cebu, Philippines. I'm currently studying at Cebu Technological University taking up Bachelor of Elementary Education, soon enough I'd be in my third year studying this course. It was never my intention at first to pursue teaching and yet as times goes by I've learn to do everything I can even though I've always thought that I'm not nearly as good as I want myself to be. I've always been aware that being a teacher would always be one of my mother's dream for me, wish is why I come to realize the value of being someone that could impart knowledge to other people.
GET TO KNOW ME
I am the eldest of the family having three siblings who's a lot more taller and vibrant than me. My family has always been my greatest motivation upon wanting to go and achieve success in life. I always admire my parents for being supportive in everything that I wanted to do. They have always done their best just so that they could provide for our needs and wants in life. I didn't came from a well off family but I've always been grateful to the things that I have. All I wanted in life is to provide a better life for my parents as well as to support my siblings with their dreams. Being the eldest also bears a great responsibility for I need to become a role model for my siblings. I do believe that the things that I do and the behaviours that I show to them will play an important part as to how they would behave themselves.
I've always been considered my family to be my top priority and inspiration in life. I have been pampered with support and love not just from my parents but also from my other relatives. I could never forget how grateful I am to my Aunt for she had always been helping my financially when times are too tight for my parents, she had become one of my greatest inspiration to become successful. It would always be engraved in my memory how she would love to see me become successful in life so that I'd be able to also help and provide for my family's needs. She had been one of those people that would highly motivate me in order to become a better person and I always admire how she always put her parents first even before settling down to make her own family, she always told me how important it is to have a goal and to have the courage to pursue my dreams even if the road gets to be rough.
Now, as I have been paving my way into achieving my dream, I am enjoying every moment that I make together with my classmates as we go through many challenges in our chosen path of course. I could still recall how many times that I've been drained physically and mentally, whenever there's a new project to make and things would go south because of many unprecedented happenings. As I've try to reminisce those moments, I would feel grateful by those kind experiences for I'm fully aware that it would surely expand my views and enhance my capabilities when comes to handling things that are new to me and could strengthen my will to become a professional someday.
MY HOBBIES
I always enjoy spending most of the time hanging out with my siblings and cousins, it could either be playing volleyball with them or going to the sea for a quick night stroll whenever I feel like rewarding myself after a tiring day at school I would always indulge myself for a brief and relaxing escapade. Luckily, we live nearby the sea and I am fond of white sand beaches that's why it'll always be a temptation for me to go and hang out with my family. The sea breeze would always find its way to calm down my senses whenever I feel like going out and wants to take a breather I would immediately seek for the sea to find solace.
When I was in my teens, I enjoy reading pocketbooks for it brings me relaxation and somehow it became my favorite way of killing some time. It started when I was still 13 years old, I've discovered some of my Aunt's pocketbook. I was quite curious as to what be the contents of those books and I've become addicted into reading fictional stories of other people. I'm amazed how the authors would deliver its thoughts and make way of creating such wonderful masterpieces, at those times I still don't have any gadget that's why I've been inclined into reading stories. Maybe I was a hopeless romantic at that time for I have this dreamy idea about love between two people and as a teen I had also ought to find the right man for me, though the stories seemed to be too good to be true as of this moment in my life, even now when I have some free time I would visit this books and visualize the romance I once thought that would happen to me also. Now, I am enjoying reading webtoons for it helps me in visualizing the characters and stories in a more precise manner.
I am not that of sporty person but I've always wanted to divert my attention into a more productive activity which also lead me to be fond of going through mountains just so that I'd be physically active. It's always refreshing to be on top and see the surroundings in a more clear perspective, there was a time when I had to conduct an interview to a teacher as part of a project of my course, together with my groupmates, as soon as we've finished the interview we quickly took a detour to explore the beautiful Little Batanes of Tabogon, I was deeply mesmerized by the beauty of the place. The quiet long journey I had made to get there makes the experience more thrilling and fun and I get to fill my curiosity of seeking for places that would help me calm my senses.
HOW I GOT TO KNOW HIVE
The sole reason why I get to know Hive was because of my friend who had send me a message about Hive and because she's still not quite informed with it, she then now instantly refers me to one of my classmates that knows a lot about Hive, she is already a member for a year and with that I got intrigued by the fact that I'll be able to share my thoughts while also preserving my own privacy. Upon sharing my thoughts on joining Hive she now told me to attend an orientation with Miss @jeannmazing to be more knowledgeable about this network, I was quite worried for I'm still not confident enough to take upon this new challenge but then as I've participated on the orientation led by Miss @jeannmazing I've realized that Hive would be a perfect place to share my views and perceptions about life. In the orientation, I've been guided how Hive works and with that it piqued my interest more to become part of this.
THE REASON WHY I JOINED HIVE
I'm looking forward to share some experiences and photographs that I didn't want to share in any other social media platforms and to meet a lot of people that may inspire me about their own experiences in life. I do believe that Hive would be a perfect haven for someone like me that's been eager to share its many unsaid thoughts free from societal judgement while in amidst of seeking for self growth. I think Hive would not only provide a channel to express my views but also it would be a great way to discover other people's passions and interests and such I would also try my best to provide stories and experiences that would also ignite other people to do better and live well with their lives. I look forward to become part of ecosystem that can help me boost my confidence into sharing and socializing with other people and to be a more progressive of a person.
