Dear Hive Friends, as I continue to explore this world, I hope to take you guys with me. So come and lets dive in to another journey, to the southernmost municipality of Cebu province, Santander.
We arrived at the bus terminal by 7pm and immediately bought a ticket. The ticket costs around 400 pesos ($7.00) per trip. Bus terminals are also like airports wherein you see different people in different walks of life. Families part ways, people carrying huge bags, group of friends excited for their trips, or solo backpackers who might be in for a short vacation.
Before hopping inside the bus, we first had a bathroom break since its a 5 hour landtrip. Although there's a 10 peso fee for using the bathroom, im impressed by the aesthetic of the place.
Im so thrilled because this will be my first overnight adventure with friends. The purpose of our quick weekend escapade is to attend a baptism and explore a little before going home.
I was quite hesitant in agreeing to go to this trip because being an accountant, we are busy people. We have month end accounting books to close and financial reports to make. However, I thought that this might be the only time i could visit the place. So i brought my office laptop with me and went on with this adventure.
Off, we went to Santander despite the heavy rain that night. I was a bit anxious upon learning late that we are riding the Ceres bus as I've heard many bus accidents in the news and most of it are with the Ceres bus. Some also say that Ceres bus drivers are reckless, all the more reason to be worried.
We had a quick stop over to buy some chips and biscuits for snacks or for souvenirs.
It was past midnight when we finally arrived at our destination safely.
