Hello lovely people! How are you? Back at it again with another blog.
Join me as I share my experience attending the Opening Salvo in Bogo City.
In the Philippines, celebrating fiestas in various regions is a cherished tradition. We put great effort into making our festivals memorable, which is one of the reasons the Philippines is famous for its festivals.
Mostly in the Philippines, the fiesta is celebrated in May. One of these fiestas is in Bogo City, located in the northern province of Cebu. Before it was a small town, Bogo has grown over time with the advancement of technology and eventually became a city.
Bogo City is 16.8 kilometers from our place, making it a half an hour's trip to go there. If you're commuting from our place, you can ride either a tricycle or a bus. Bogo City serves as the central hub for surrounding areas, where people go to buy essentials. As a city, it has hospitals, malls, and banks available.
That's why every year during their fiesta, many people and tourists flock to Bogo City to join the celebration.
This year, I had the opportunity to attend and witness the Opening Salvo in Bogo City. I was accompanied by my boyfriend and my little sister. We went there after dinner, around 7 PM, riding a motorcycle. We were excited because it was our first time attending this kind of event.
We arrived at exactly 8 PM. We were overwhelmed by the crowd and had a hard time looking for a parking place, then we walked towards the venue of the event. As we approach the place various displays of foods, drinks, clothing wear, and many more items you can buy and enjoy. When we arrived at the place, the show had already started. We found a spot to sit and enjoy the event.
Some participants performed dance numbers representing their schools in Bogo City. They gave an impressive performance that I know their school is truly proud of. The crowd cheered enthusiastically, adding to the excitement of the show. After that, all the participants gathered together on the stage to perform their final dance.
The Mayor of Bogo City delivered a grateful message and welcomed us to the annual fireworks display, the highlight and most anticipated part of the show. It was my little sister's first time experiencing this kind of event, and I was happy to bring her. The happiness and excitement I see to her face were priceless, and I know it will be a memorable experience for her.
Fireworks always capture the hearts of many, enchanting both children and those young at heart. They create a magical experience for everyone, like colorful stars exploding in the sky. The fireworks display lasts nearly 30 minutes and is incredibly satisfying to watch.
Following the fireworks display, the host announced that a guest performer would take the stage. The crowd screamed in excitement upon learning that the guest performer was none other than the renowned vlogger, DJ, and Bogo's pride - the one and only, Marinong Dj!
Marinong DJ electrifies the crowd with disco music, prompting everyone to joyfully dance. I personally adore the music he plays; it pumps us up and makes us want to dance along. Even my little sister joins in, expressing her excitement through dance. It's a moment enjoyed by everyone!
While we were caught up in the moment, my little sister suddenly asked for some food, perhaps feeling hungry after all that dancing. HAHA! We stepped outside to find some food, opting for fries and shakes. We chose to stay outside because it was too crowded inside.
While finishing our food, we took a stroll around Bogo Plaza. My sister noticed that the playground was under construction. Previously, she used to play there every time we visited Bogo. Upon noticing that it was temporarily closed for renovation, she felt sad, but we reassured her that once it reopens, we'll take her there to enjoy the new slides.
We only stayed there for a few minutes, enjoying watching the kids play. As it was already late at night, we made the decision to head home. We then located where our motorcycle was parked.
On our way home, we spotted a pizza shop. My boyfriend knows about my love for pizza, and I can easily devour an entire box by myself.LOL! We decided to stop by and eat before heading home. So, we ordered one Hawaiian overload and soda drinks for us. Happy tummy!!
Next to DHODZ PIZZA is D'FROST, where we ordered ice cream for my little sister. After finishing our food, we headed straight home.
Our experience that night was great and fun, especially for my sister. She got to try new things, and it was clear that she really enjoyed and was happy with it.
I am glad I attended the Bogo City Opening Salvo 2024 and witnessed how they welcome their yearly fiesta celebration.
