Hello, dear lovelies! We are onto another blog and today I will be sharing with you a summary of my 7-day practice in preparation for our moving up ceremony as junior high school students!

D1-4, 20th-23rd of May

The first day was draining not gonna lie. I had just recovered from my sickness and I had to wake up at 6:00 am because our practice was scheduled at 7:00 am had to push through with lack of sleep and hurriedly prepared myself for the day ahead. I arrived pretty much late since my mom insisted on me taking my medications first and getting short naps before going or I'll get drained very easily. Anyway, all we did was practice the whole flow of the ceremony and try to make it as organized and solemn as possible. We practiced from 7-11 am, starting from the processional, awarding, speeches, songs, and the recessional. After the practice, I passed by some shops to tick off the list of groceries my mom instructed me to buy. One of my best friends then invited me to hang over by the seaside for a while to catch the breeze. I agreed and we stumbled across a convenience store and bought some snacks and drinks before heading out. We chatted until 12am and walked past a few houses before waiting for a tricycle along the highway.

D-5, 24th of May, Friday

On Friday, our teacher planned for us to have our final meal together as a whole class. After our practice, I and my friends decided to stay a bit by the covered court and bought some refreshing fruit punch and some snacks. Oh gosh, it was certainly a cup fresh from heaven. One of my friends decided to snoop around some nearby thrifting stores since they were on sale. We decided to tag along before going back to school to eat lunch together. Once we got to school, the rest of our classmates were already there and we waited for the rest to arrive so we could start the awarding ceremony for the 4th quarter and the announcement of those who are qualified to go for STEM in senior high.

After the awarding, we all gathered together and ate lunch. Several meals were waiting out on the table such as chicken, bami (stir-fried noodles), ice cream, gulaman, soft drinks, and Tiempo. We cleaned up the mess afterwards and the rest went home. As for me and my other friends, we stayed by the hallways and shared a few conversations before deciding to play TorD (Truth or Dare). It went on for about 2 hours before we decided to go home. Actually, only two of our friends already went home by that time and the rest of us went to a nearby ice cream shop and chatted for a while (again). We were all having a great time until our circle lessened in size. The others wanted to go to the complex to witness the practice for the recognition of the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 11th graders. However, I decided to go home because my mother must've been looking for me already. I'm letting you all on a small secret (shhh). I got emotional when I last took a glimpse of our empty classroom before they closed it. Only those who were with me knew about it and tried to comfort me. For some reason, it felt as if it would be the last time I would be there, along with my batchmates throughout junior high. It was a pretty eventful day and I collected a lot of wonderful memories I'll surely cherish for the rest of my life.

D-6, 25th-26th of May

The last two practices we had until the ceremony. It was pretty much the same but our venue got moved to somewhere far more spacious than the covered court. We settled onto the place where the ceremony would be held and finalized a couple of things before ending the day. I went to a nearby pharmacy and bought some snacks- mogu mogu and cream of cookies. Believe me or not, I haven't tasted mogu mogu for so long. For like 5 years? I can't remember the last time I had it. Anyway, I went back to school to get my slay (sling) to put on during the ceremony which is a common tradition for most Filipinos to wear during solemn events like these.

That is pretty much the summary of my 7-day practice for the ceremony. See you on the 30th! Bye-bye, and take care!
