The Creatives is how they call our department at work. Our department includes everything related to arts and letters. My friends and I had a party at one of the artsy resto-bars in Makati.
Kondwi has been in my to visit places because it screams ART – the decors, drinks, and food!
It is located in Población, known as the entertainment district here in Makati because of the restaurants and nightclubs. Kondwi is a hidden resto-bar because there’s no indicated signage on its façade. We had our doubts when we entered the place because we were not sure if it was really Kondwi!
When we entered the place, everything was ✨aesthetic✨! Upstairs is a gallery. Too bad, I forgot to take pictures when we visited it.
It was 6 pm when Francine asked my company to go to the bar and order some drinks. The bartenders were laughing because they were still setting up, we were the first ones to order. We started the night with their Basil Smash (Fresh Basil, gin, lemon, and sugar syrup). It was refreshing!
We enjoyed lots of food that night. And since the place is an art itself, the food comes with artistic style too! Oh, I forgot to mention that this place was designed by the artist Leeroy New and owned by Marvin Agustin!
We had nachos, but Kondwi’s nachos come with a twist instead of ordinary ones! We loved their Kangkong Nachos. Too bad, I forgot to take a picture of it when it was still on the plate. Lol!
Francine and I finished our first glass of Basil Smash. We opted to go for a different drink this time. I picked Turon (Banana infused rum, langka puree, lemon juice, and sugar syrup) while Francine ordered the classic Daiquiri.
The next food we had was Chicken Satay with Rice, followed by the Pork Binagoongan Spring Rolls with Kare-Kare sauce! This one’s really delicious! I didn’t know Spring Rolls and Kare-Kare sauce go well together! I didn’t eat much rice that night because I didn’t want to throw up. The Chicken Satay was really full of flavour!
It was getting late but not too late for us to order some more! My friends Jay and Kev brought me this pink drink (I forgot its name!), but it was terrific, plus there’s pockey! They also ordered another Turon drink for me (I love the banana on top!)
While waiting for my friends to finish their food, Kev went for another drink and brought me this cocktail! My favorite, Long Island Iced Coffee (Premium Gin, Vodka, Rum, Espresso Shot, Fresh Lemon Juice & sugar syrup)! It smells and tastes like coffee; I could drink it all day!
Our department head came with Jose Cuervo and nine shot glasses. Three of my friends don’t drink, so the rest of us covered for them. Shot puno!
Party songs were playing, and all the peeps in Kondwi were dancing! It was 11 pm when our department head visited our table with another bottle of Jose Cuervo. He wanted us to finish it straight up. We got a bit tipsy after all the drinks, so Sam, Kayla, Bee, DJ, and I went outside to get some fresh air and get along with other people.
People outside were smoking. While my friends were smoking, I had the chance to talk to other people. It was already midnight when we decided to go back inside.
Jay mentioned he brought with him his Shot Puno drinking cards. I bought one for myself via Shopee, so we have something to play with whenever I go out with my friends.
Since we ran out of drinks, DJ bought us San Mig light. We played and drank for the rest of the night, which was fun! While other people were dancing, we were laughing!
It was already 1 am, and we still had a lot of energy. We decided to go to the Filling Station to eat and drink some more. Then, at 3 am, we all opted to go home.
Have you been to a place that screams ‘art’ like Kondwi?
Tell me about it! I want to visit it with my friends next time!
