I think I've just about convinced the wife that WonderCon should fit into our plans for 2020. For those of you who don't know what WonderCon is...it's a GEEK-ish festival of epic proportions!
Every year, my family longs to attend the "big one": Comic-Con International. And every year, we either don't make the "cut" when we attempt to buy tickets...or...we don't wake up early enough to even make it into the queue for the whole 5 minutes it takes to be sold out...or Fate simply says "Nope, haha. You no go."
That's actually what happened this last time. Tickets went on sale while we were flying over China during the SteemFest trip. No internet.
But you know what? That's okay. Because there's WonderCon. Whereas I hear that Comic-Con is a crowded chaos that requires lots of standing in line and bladder control, WonderCon has always seemed like the perfect balance of fun and accessibility.
Sure, it would be nice to experience Comic-Con, but I never regret going to WonderCon.
This year's WonderCon is scheduled for mid-April, so there's a couple of months still to plan things out. To emotionally prepare myself, I decided to share some pics from when we attended the 2018 show!
Half the fun is taking pictures of all the amazing cosplay. I'm amazed at some of the costumes! They can be so creative!
There's also plenty of stuff to shop.
And of course, there's the panels. It's cool to see previews of upcoming shows, hear from the cast, etc. For example, when we went last time, we were introduced to the Netflix show Lost in Space. So glad we did. We ended up LOVING the show. So well done!
Now we're waiting for Season Three! Can't wait!
Also got to see the cast for Fear the Walking Dead and Agents of Shield.
I'm really looking forward to seeing who's gonna be there this year (the schedule hasn't been announced yet).
Assuming we're able to make it to the event this year, I'll be sure to post more about our adventure for 2020!
Speaking of which, the culture behind comic book conventions with all the superheroes, artwork, fantasy, sci fi, collectibles, and pop culture is the basis for the new GEEKZ steem community. I encourage you to join, so we can start debating who played the best Batman or how to rank Star Wars movies from best to worst.
There's still time to get your free Splinterlands Untamed pack. A lot of packs have already been sent out to subscribers, but there's still a few left! So make sure you get in on that! Plus if you subscribe, you get one of those cool GEEKZ member badges on your Steempeak profile!
Until next time!
