Hoy ha sido un día bastante lluvioso. Las lluvias comenzaron ayer en la noche alrededor de las 7 de la noche con una fuerte tormenta con truenos y rayos. Mi gatito Aioria estaba algo nervioso y se mantenía siempre cerca de mis pies para tener algo de seguridad.
Luego, dejó de llover alrededor de las 9 para volver a llover cerca de las 11 P.M. para continuar durante todo el resto de la noche.
Así que ha sido un día un poco lento. Tuve que salir a comprar unas cosas y eso me demoró mucho esperando a que la lluvia se calmara antes de salir y luego de regreso.
Ya que el día ha estado calmado, quise compartir hoy algo también relajado y alejado de las temáticas de combates o personajes guerreros.
Les comparto un retrato que hice de uno de mis guitarristas favoritos: Teru.
Normalmente, no me gusta hacer retratos. Me resulta aburrido reproducir algo exactamente igual pues mi imaginación es muy inquieta y no puede quedarse tranquila por mucho tiempo.
A pesar de ello, he encontrado que hacer retratos, sobre todo de personas a las que admire, me resulta un buen ejercicio para mantener la atención a los detalles y para desarrollar la observación.
Me he dedicado al manga y al anime porque me gusta el estilo, me identifico con él y siento una gran admiración por la cultura japonesa.
He tratado el estilo de comic americano y, a pesar que sí logro reproducirlo, no me siento yo, no siento que sea yo quien se esté expresando a través del dibujo.
Algo similar me ha ocurrido con el realismo. Lo uso como forma de aprendizaje y práctica pero no a la hora de crear ilustraciones o comics.
Creo que es importante desarrollarse con un estilo o técnica con el cual uno se sienta cómodo expresando las ideas que quiere plasmar en el lienzo. Es bueno explorar otras técnicas para continuar con esa búsqueda que tiene el artista en su necesidad de expresar su mundo interno, pero no es sano intentar encajar en alguna en específico sólo por moda, porque sea lo trending o porque todo el mundo dice que es lo que los verdaderos artistas hacen.

No tengo muchas porque todo el retrato lo hice en una sola capa. Cuando trabajo este tipo de retratos, me concentro tanto que no me doy chance de tomar capturas de cómo va avanzando el trabajo. Lo dibujé en Easy Paint Tool Sai.
Sus trajes y peinados son siempre complicados, no obstante, lo disfruto porque me ayuda a aprender a dibujar este estilo de ropas con tantos detalles.

Today has been a quite rainy day. The rain started last night around 7 p.m. with a strong thunderstorm. My kitten Aioria was a bit nervous and stayed close to my feet for some security.
Then, it stopped raining around 9 p.m. and started again around 11 p.m., continuing throughout the rest of the night.
So it has been a slow day. I had to go out to buy some things, which took a long time as I waited for the rain to calm down before leaving and when I returned.
Since the day has been calm, I wanted to share something relaxed and away from combat or warrior themes.
I'm sharing a portrait I made of one of my favorite guitarists: Teru.
Normally, I don't like doing portraits. I find it boring to reproduce something exactly the same because my imagination is very restless and can't stay still for long.
Despite that, I have found that doing portraits, especially of people I admire, is a good exercise to pay attention to the details and develop observation skills.
I have been dedicated to manga and anime because I like the style, I identify with it, and I have a great admiration for Japanese culture.
I have tried the American comic style, and although I can reproduce it, I don't feel like it's me expressing myself through the drawing.
Something similar has happened to me with realism. I use it as a form of learning and practice, but not when creating illustrations or comics.
I believe it is important to develop with a style or technique that makes you feel comfortable expressing the ideas you want to portray on the canvas. It's good to explore other techniques to continue the artist's search to express their inner world, but it's not healthy to try to fit into a specific one just because it's trendy or because everyone says that's what true artists do.
I'm sharing some screenshots of the process.
I don't have many because I did the whole portrait in one layer. When I work on this type of portrait, I get so focused that I don't give myself a chance to take screenshots of the progress. I drew it in Easy Paint Tool Sai.
Their outfits and hairstyles are always complicated, but I enjoy it because it helps me learn to draw this style of clothing with so many details.
