For a long time our city hasn't seen many new murals. This summer there has been quite a lot more activity. This is some of what I have passed accidently on my way home from work.
All of these are found on buildings at a place called Vabua. I pass the building every day on my way to work. The building itself is old and supposed to be demolished and a new apartment complex will be built on the same spot. On the backside there are lots of grafitti. The building is being used as a canvas as long as it is still standing.
These two are very new. The are placed besides each other down by the river that I have to cross to get into town and to work. Great work done by artist Cbloxx. I checked Instagram where the artist says that he is interested n ancient civilizations. Some of the knowledge is found in carvings done on stones. He also mentions how he is influence by wars of our times. These two in Kristiansand are influenced by Norse mythology. The stay in Kristiansand inspired the aim to pint Odin, the Norse Pagan god of war. The artist wanted Odin to look more like death. Next to Odin, the artist wanted a peace god, but ended up with Ran, who was the goddes of water, mainly because the mural is located by the river.
This is painted by the sea at a place called Bertesbukta / Bay of Bertes. The area is great for walking along the sea. There is a beach, harbor for sailingships, camping facilites et. A very popular place during the summer. The artist is Canevil- He has studied graphic designs in the 1990s. Most of his themes are from everydaylife and has a range from humourous themes to polical themes.

Back to buildings are pass everyday. I am not sure who the artists are here. The last one, painted on a power box has an obious theme: The Olympic flame.
