Day 3 - ABCC Cruise Royal Caribbean - At Sea

Day 3 we were at sea the entire day. At different times you could feel the ship rocking. Some of the crew said it was because this was a smaller ship, but it seemed pretty big to me! Nonetheless, at the front you could especially feel the swaying.

We started the day at 8:00 with breakfast which included (for me) churros and waffles with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and syrup. No diet or fasting for me! We also had breakfast with a nice Italian couple. They were surprised, as well, that the majority of the people on the cruise were Spanish speakers. This meal with them would prove to save us an hour walk in super hot weather in a few days...

After breakfast, we headed to workout in the gym and have a sauna. This would be the only time I would do any workout, as I preferred the saunas! In the saunas, I met a lady named Carmen and we talked quite a bit. I would see her regularly in the sauna over the next few days as we both enjoyed sweating it out in there! I also took a few videos to show the kids what it was like when we would return home.

After the sauna and gym, we decided to lay out by the pool for a little while. They had some competitions and loud music, so we watched while we got some sun. We are not very tan, so our bodies soaked up the rays, but thankfully we didn't burn.

At 1:00 we went to the buffet and had lunch. It was a taco bar and I also had a salad. I also liked the selection of teas that were available and pretty much always had iced tea with my lunch. We did not buy any packages like the drink, soda, or internet packages, so juice, tea, and water were the only options available for us to drink. I always took advantage of the soft serve ice cream though!

After lunch, at 2:00, we went to a seminar about posture. Our "footprint" was read and this was actually a sales pitch to get us to buy some shoe inserts at a special "cruise price."

At 3:00 we went to the theater and watched the new Indiana Jones movie. I watched about an hour, but I wanted to go to a seminar at 4:00 that was about shopping in Aruba, so I missed some of it. The seminar was another sales pitch about places to shop so the crew member could get commission off the purchases made.

At 6:00, the captain would be in the main part of the ship taking photos with people who wanted to meet him. I thought this would be cool, but my husband thought it would be weird to have a photo made with him, so I just took a picture of a random woman getting her photo with him. Ha! I thought he was from the US, but at the flag ceremony on the last day, he had a Swedish flag, so I guess I was wrong.

7:00 was dinner - A Taste of France. I've never been one for French food, but it was good. I had butternut squash soup and Chicken Cordon Bleu. For dessert, I had creme brulee and almond creme puffs. The dress theme for the evening was "Dress to Impress," so we wore our nice clothes.

.

We are usually fast eaters, so we were able to make it to an event that was happening at 8:00. It was a group called Impact Show and they were Argentine dancers. It was pretty interesting and we enjoyed it. We stopped at the cafe in the Solarium to get a little (mediocre) pizza as a snack on our way out.

After this, we had another late night watching Jurassic World Domination out by the pool. The movie started at 10:00 and it was pretty good. It was kind of cold on the deck with the wind blowing and I did not have enough on to keep me warm!

All in all, it was a fun day on the ship. We saw a few people we had met before (either in port when we got on or various other places). There are plenty of activities to do to fill up your schedule, even on a sea day. Things we missed included bingo, sing a longs, dance parties, and pool parties, but we still feel like we enjoyed our time.
