I am writing this in response to the question above. Yes Children need to obey their parents and not only their parents but also their elder ones
The bible clearly stated this in the book of ephesians 6:1-3. (Which is a very popular verse) This portion of the bible is explaining the important of children obeying their parents.
Children does not only need to obey their parents because the bible demands it but because it is mandatory. Best of all children are to obey their parents in the lord.
The obligation is not only on the side of the child, who must obey but also on the parents, who must enforce obedience. As it was clearly written in the book of Proverb 13:24 "Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them".
This is because parents stand as God in relationship to the child to teach the child to obey the parent is to teach the child to obey God. To allow the child to defy and disobey the parent is to allow the child to defy and disobey God.
