Here is what I learnt from the Thanksgiving service, kindly watch the video.
We are called to do good works as a Christian, God commanded us to do good works always to people around us even to our enemies.
Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do ministry.
Romans 2:7 To those who by patient persistence in well-doing [springing from piety] seek [unseen but sure] glory and honor and [the eternal blessedness of] immortality, He will give eternal life.
Romans 2:8 But for those who are self-seeking and self-willed and disobedient to the Truth but responsive to wickedness, there will be indignation and wrath.
Romans 2:9 [And] there will be tribulation and anguish and calamity and constraint for every soul of man who [habitually] does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek (Gentile).
Romans 2:10 But glory and honor and [heart] peace shall be awarded to everyone who [habitually] does good, the Jew first and also the Greek (Gentile
Hope, faith and love are three things that can't do without one another. You can't claim to have one without having the other two.
Christ is our hope, so if we want to rise first, we must first live with hope which is Christ Jesus.
Living with hope is living with Christ.
Those who live with hope are those who continually do good works.
If we withdraw from doing good, God will have no pleasure in us, according to
So we should cleave to doing good.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
As Christ followers, we should always live in hope. If we live in Christ, then there is hope for us that we will be resurrected with Him. Those without hope won't resurrect with Him. Those who died in hope will first be resurrected.
Your conscience is important in your service to God. Our sorrow is not like those who are hopeless. Circumstances will make us sorrowful and we can't avoid it but we have a living hope in Jesus.
Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.
Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
