What is baptism in the Bible part 1 of 3

My contribution to the above topic

According to the teaching of bro eli of blessed memories.

Baptism is a commandment of Jesus Christ

Mark 10:39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

The baptism received by Jesus Christ is an example because the intent of baptism those not apply to him.

Baptism is the washing away of sin and a period of repentance and the Lord Jesus Christ as nothing to repent of.

1 Peter 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

So is was commanded by God with the intention that people may repent from their sin, it is for the remission of sin

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

A proof to the above scripture was when Ananias went to Paul who was formerly Saul to be baptized he said the real intent of baptism in

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Baptism really is for the remission and washing away of sin not as some people think is a ritual of naming a baby is not biblical because those baptized already have their names.

So the baptism that was received by Jesus Christ is an example for the Christians to be baptized for the remission and washing away of their sin.
