This is my lesson gained from the response of Brother Eli to the question above
You can be considered a levite, because you are the children of Aaron, but on the woman side, you can't be sure because they can get married to another man.
Matthew 1:18
King James Version
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost
The Lord Jesus Christ was from the descendant of David the tribe of judah, so likewise the mother, by the virtue of marriage.
Hebrews 7:14
King James Version
14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
But it doesn't rule out the fact that Mary is related to zechariah and Elisabeth. From the scripture below
2 Chronicles 20:14
King James Version
14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;
You can see the descendant of zechariah, he was from the levite and from
Luke 1:5
King James Version
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
You can see that Elisabeth also was from the descendant of the levite
So you can see that Family lines were traced by the Jews through the father, not the mother, and, so long as tribal inheritances were not affected, Jewish women could freely marry outside of their tribe.
Thank you and God bless you.
