Hello friends, I hope you're all well. Missi Roti tastes excellent in the winter season, especially when paired with Urad Chane Ki Dal and rice. So, let's start making Urad Chane Ki Dal today for an even better experience. It's straightforward, and all the ingredients are readily available in every kitchen, so let's learn how to make it.
Ingredients:
- Urad Dal - 100 grams (half cup)
- Chana Dal - 50 grams (one-fourth cup)
- Oil - 1-2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1-inch piece
- Asafoetida (hing) - 1-2 pinches
- Cumin seeds (jeera) - half teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - half teaspoon
- Whole red chillies
- Few garlic cloves
- Salt
Soak Urad and Chana Dal in water for an hour. Then, in a pressure cooker, add salt, turmeric, and the soaked dal. Add water according to your preference; I added two glasses for five servings.
After one whistle, reduce the gas to low. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat, then turn off the gas.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker. Urad Chane Ki Dal is ready; transfer it to a bowl.
For the tempering (tadka), heat oil in a pan, add garlic, and then add the prepared dal. Cook it for a while, and your delicious Urad Chane Ki Dal is ready to be served hot with Missi Roti, chapati, naan, or rice.
