“A great book should leave you with many experiences, and slightly exhausted at the end. You live several lives while reading.”
― William Styron, Conversations with William Styron
How can somebody get so enchanted by a book that he/she never wants to spend a day without reading something?
I find it really amusing how I didn't even know what the essence or meaning of literature was when I first picked up a book to read. It was a life-changing experience because there were a lot of things that happened after that one profound deed.
I believe it's an exhilarating experience to have a book in hand that brings you pleasure but it becomes wholly luxurious when you also learn something out of it!
To me, that happened when I read "The Kite Runner by Khalid Hossaini".
I couldn't keep my hands off it because I felt deeply connected to the events, people, and their experiences. Not only was it a roller-coaster ride of emotions, but it also made me evolve as a person and see things differently.
A few things I gathered from it are:
- We, as humans, do most things without realizing the long-lasting impacts our actions can have on others' lives.
- It is never too late to do what needs to be done.
- Of all the human emotions, love is supremely powerful.
- Your past never leaves you alone, you just learn to live with it.
Thank you for reading! Also, please do suggest your favorite books and tell me about your first reading experience.
