Architecture of Narita Airport, Tokyo, Japan

Hi my friend in Architecture+Design,

How do you do on this weekend?

Talking about weekend, the airport is one of popular place to spending weekend. I think you are not thinking about picnic in the airport. I just wanna talking about airport as one of favorite place on the weekend because all people who wants to go to holiday, usually stopping by here first.

So, here my experience on the weekend when I will flight to Medan, Indonesia after 5 month working in Japan. This is my first leave, so I can not wasting my leave for another place but my home in Indonesia. But I will showing you guys about the architecture of Tokyo Narita Airport, a busiest airport in Japan.

Tokyo Narita Airport, Tokyo Japan

For reach Tokyo Narita Airport from Ina, I take the bus around 4 hours, then to the Narita airport I take the bus around 1 hours 30 minutes. It was a long journey to go home, because Ina was so far from Tokyo. My flight is about 10 hours after my came, so I can take a look. Even though I came early morning, Tokyo Narita Airport is nor quiet or crowded.

So, let's take a look Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan.

Before talking about the architecture of Narita Airport, let me talking about the weather which is lovely. The air is clean and kinda cold.

The Tokyo Narita Airport is looks like full metal made. All area and all part is looks metal. Even the floor has the same color with all aspect. That all make the ambience are clean an cozy. The floor can even make you slip if you are not careful. All set as that clean and clear.

It's not strange for me to see Japan so clean, but it's strange to see people in the airport also orderly. Look at the waiting room there, it still looks neat even though there are many people sitting there.

From All Aspect, the picture above attracted me. I am not sure what is that but it's so unique, colorful, and artistic. I think it was produced by a famous artist that I don't know who. That was the one and only colorful pole on the Narita Airport. Awesome!

  • The Ordinary Ceiling

It's kinda weird when we knew that Japan is the develop country and especially Tokyo is the modern city, I am curious about they designing the main airport, it was so simple, especially for their ceiling. It's kinda weird that those big airport has mediocre ceiling while other country make their ceiling looks different, has special design and meaning.

Even though the ceilings looks unusual, It make Tokyo Narita Airport still fabolous!

Nowadays Airport is not about airport, it can be shopping and dining place. Because the visitor would be huge, they provide big shopping and dining section.

Tokyo Banana is the most popular souvenir, I totally want to get it to my family, but It's price buying a souvenir in airport, so I skip it!

What a interesting hanging lamp. I saw those hanging lamp on the top of waiting room, that you could see the detail while waiting your flight. The hanging lamps looks elegant and looks lux.

Let's boarding!

  • Waiting Room

My gate is about 28, so I walked on that way. Here what you get when you through the Immigration section. While waiting your flight, you could see the shops and waiting chair. You even can sleep everywhere, as long as that is in waiting room.

Waiting room is the highlight section for the passengers. Because on this section people could take a rest for long or short time. Also, there are so many massage chair which could make you relax before a long flight. Tokyo Narita Airport was wonderful place with their simple architecture.

Here what you get after you sit on the waiting room.

It was best experiences as long as visited Japan besides the Popular places. I wish I have that nice experience next. Thank you for stopping by my blog.
