I came to the Mydin Superstore in Sandakan this morning about nine o'clock with my mother just for the eggs, but we weren't the only ones. In the early morning, around 9:30, I had a dentist appointment. I'm confident we'll arrive on time.
Recently, we've been plagued by worries about the limited number of chicken eggs that must be destroyed due to high demand.
So, as you can see, people arrived so early merely to bring a tray of eggs to each other. One buyer may purchase only one tray, which contains 30 eggs.
We require eggs frequently because my mother and I loves to bake and cook. I took one tray, she took one, and together we had two trays. However, we need to buy it from a different counter.
What would happen to people who are in business and depend so heavily on eggs? Eggs must be used even by small-scale vendors like those who sell hamburgers or Char Kuey Teow.
I sincerely hope that things won't get worse in 2023. However, I've read that there will be a greater food shortage than this year. And in any situation, we must be ready and organized.
What about you and your country? Do elaborate; do you experience a similar shortage to what we did in Malaysia? And how did you all deal with it?
That's probably it for today. I have another plan for this Saturday night, so I'll let you all know about it. Everyone enjoy their weekend and take care at all times.
