Greetings everyone, it is time to share with you about the burial I attended in 24/11/2022. Hope that this post meet you in peace.

This was the burial of sir Jackson as he is called by those that know him. He is a retired teacher, he worked as a class teacher for 7 years, and worked as a principal of a school till he retired. I visited him last June 2022 when he was sick and unfortunately, He died on September 2022. His wife is still alive. He has only one surving Son who is currently teaching at Trinity polytechnic college Uyo.

The day i visited him, i went with his brother Mr Aloysius who is now the eldest in the family.

Mr Aloysius when they brought Sir Jackson corpse back from mortuary

This was about 8:30 am and about an hour, his body was taking to his church,. Catholic Church for funeral talk. After he was brought back to his compound for burial.

Everyone followed as the members of his church carried him back to his house. They did not put him back to the car rather they traked and we followed. As we reached his compound, announcement was made for everyone to locate their sit by checking what they pasted on each canopy. Also, they said that they don't want anyone close to the tomb onles selected person's. But something happened.

Security Men was put in charge so that no one will trespass. So while the bishop was praying, a young man tried to go there and the security people told him to go back. He refused and tried to force himself to the grave but they stopped him.

Something happened that caused some people to run.

Another young Man tried to go to the grave from the backyard and 2 security Men that were in charge of that side stopped him but he refused. He slapped the security Man and fight bursted. It was so severe that the young guy nearly lost his life. The security Men beat out the nonsense in his head. They flogged him until his skin started bleeding.

women who came for the burial pleaded on his behalf before they left him. Hmmmm, i was alert, figuring out the way I will take to escape if the problem continued.lol, I still wonder why some people find it difficult to respect simple instructions given by authority.

Everywhere became calm again.

After that he was taking to the hospital ,and everywhere became calm again. I was called by one of the poly staff to come and sit with them. It was a nice experience. They offered me different kind of food and drink but I was not in the mood for food. Each time I attend burial, it reminds me so many things and i began to wonder, what this life is all about.

I asked for the wife of Sir Jackson and Mr Aloysius took me to her. she was surrounded with friends. She was happy to see me and I encouraged her to be strong. She is in her early 70 now. She told me not stop visiting her regularly which i told her that i will do my best. It is not easy to bear the lost of a beloved father, husband like Sir Jackson. He was kind, loving and caring.
