When we were just hitting the road, on our second day of cycling, we were lucky enough to meet a British couple in their 60's, they suggested this App to us and it was our guide for the rest of the trip. Its accuracy is amazing and the fact that you can navigate, even offline makes it, for me, the best app for route planning.
