As weird as it may sound people here in India have a fascination with Tea and how it is cultivated and more than often we see several tourists traveling very very far just to see some Tea Plants and if they are lucky enough then they can also find a place near a Tea Garden to stay in as that is like peak spot for them. Tea Tourism as some would like to call it is a pretty big industry here in India as it drives a lot of tourist traffic to Darjeeling and other places.
Some might say that people travel to Darjeeling to watch the Mountains and Greeneries and if they are lucky even the Kanchenjunga Mountain as well but if that were the case people would not be visiting all the offbeat places all around Darjeeling and some even like to stay in the Dooars region as well.
This has given rise to a huge surge of capital being flown directly towards developing Tourism activities and hotels/homestays near Tea Gardens. I have spent the majority of my life around Tea Gardens so I know that there are big investors actively looking for Properties inside a Tea Garden as that will garner a lot of attention from these Tourists who love Tea. Even now there are indeed Properties like the Mayfair Tea Resort, Makaibari Tea Estate Bungalow, and many more where you can spend some quality time in a resort that is surrounded by Tea and chances are you could also enjoy some quality Tea Time and I can say this with certainty that you will have a great time in these Tea Centric Resorts as I have stayed in a couple of them and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
