Greetings to all under the reach of this post.

Today as I sat down to contemplate my life and my accomplishments as a small business owner, I have thought about sharing valuable plans on how I started my business without any funds.

It can be one of the frustrating moments in life and somewhat uncertain. There are those who will look down on you and even people who will discourage you to throw away your dreams and follow the masses that is to say get the education and find a job. Some too may just have higher expectations, that if not checked can lead you down paths your never really imagined.

The intention is to give you the courage and the momentum to start and never sleep on your little ideas because from such are great ones borne. So, follow me as I unravel creative ways which may benefit you in your own venture.

Identify Strength and Business Idea

Knowing your strength plays a paramount role in your business journey. It starts with being honest to yourself and asking relevant questions. Your friends and families can even help with identifying your strengths. Ask questions like, "what am I good at, and can it be profitable in the business world?" As a carpenter, I considered various areas in carpentry and decided i was good at joinery specifically wardrobe, cabinets, vanity units making and others. I also considered the markets and my target market.

Draw a Plan

Your business must be unique. The plan must not be complicated. It can be a simple plan but should atleast it should make sense when you pitch it to others. With my capentry business, I considered my resources and thought about who I can bring onboard who is good and I struggling but have the tools needed to get the work done. I also planned for service charges and how i will split up the income on job with my partner and on acquiring tools for the job. I treat mine as an equal partner, not trying to get greedy and he is fair to treat me with the same respect too. Another thing is, I thought about the competition out there, the average pricing and how I can beat the price and yet be relevant in the scene. I also made plans for my target clients and how to approach them.

Make use of your Associates.

To build a successful business, have the right relationship can put you ahead. Do not to be afraid of talking to people including those in your circle as well as pitching your business to new people. What I did was to utilize my church members as well as talk to some plumbers offering them some percentage of jobs I get from them or their associate. These people know people so they begun putting in word for me as I also talked to people. Another step forward was joining groups and creating social media handles and posting my jobs there. I have not monetized my social media handles but I Will soon do that. All of these are great ways to network to make people aware of your business.

Honesty and Dedication Should Be Your Hallmark

The way you work, and your delivery can sell you more than anything. Your clients should be able to trust you with their hard-earned money and be able to rely on your word on delivery dates. Your effort and dedication must keep the business rolling. Remember, "there is no food for the lazy man." The goal should not always be on the profit or the money but on service delivery.

Growing Your Business

You can always start small and expand later. remember you are creating a brand for yourself and at the end of the day, it is that brand that will bring the job and the money. all big businesses had to start from somewhere so do not employ people to do things you can do in a new business. Your vision for growth should stretch you but never unrealistic. Small beggings are good, think of building a household name and grow from there as time goes on. Being honest to clients also says alot about your personality and it shows them you respect them so do not forget that.

Utilized Social Media

You can use medias like Hive or Ecency, tiktok, or even instagram to sell or promote your business. These social networks will give you profound exposure. So spent some time adverticing your product or services on social media apps.

Enchance Your Skills Through Education

These days education is very accessible from everywhere with just a tap. Be humble and learn from people online or perhaps around you. Doing that will put you on top of the world and keep your business thriving. I study most of the new skills on youtube. There is an ocean of resourceful ideas on there. You could also go to seminas and the likes which will add up to your knowledge as well as help you build network with other people.

Be Grateful by Counting Your Blessings

Always remember where you started from. Appreciate the people show put you on and do that by rendering services to others who are starting up. Be grateful for the little gains and be appreciative of the journey.

In conclusion

Building up a business can be challenging but you can be successful when you persistently keep bouncing back and doing the right things. You have to be industrious and creative to stay consistent. And applying the points I have mentioned above will help you in your career.
