The School Of Life: True Education Is The Way.

In my opinion education is learning, understanding and utilising the natural laws surrounding us to our advantage.

With that being said, I am aware that people try so hard to distinguish between the two, thus schooling and education but to my view, this two are inseparable in the sense that, life in itself is a school and it is by schooling that each of us get an education.

The purpose of my blog is in response to the weekly prompt in the #HiveGhana community Link.

Education is in two forms formal or informal. Formal is the one we get at school with certificate awarded but informal is what we learn at home and in from our surroundings. An application of these puts a man in the part to success. There is a popular quote which says "Knowledge is power". We live in the age of information. The Knowledge or information at one's disposal gives him or her an advantage over another when it is put in practice.

By some grand design, life puts obstacles in our path which takes us through the refineries fire when we master the play and maneuver our way through it.

Is it not true that "experience is the best teacher". Now, I pose a question: how does one get experience? It is by going through the learning, obstacles and the mastering of the challenges in the school of life that give us the knowledge necessary to overcomethe other when it comes.

Do not get it wrong, all successful people got to where they are because of some sort of education. You may have heard that Floyd May Maywhether did not go to college but know that he followed a pattern or module to get to where he is now. That module included self-discipline, try and error various modes, thus the amount of time spent in training was his business module. And now, practicing that in the boxing ring was a wise use of the education he got at training.

20There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated— 21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated. -Doctrine and Covenants 130

In view of this quote, we should know that nothing happens automatically.
To receive the blessing of money one must work or invest his resources into something productive. By doing that, an individual is paying the cost or positioning himself for that blessing.

Paul an older missionary admonished in Timothy;

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. -1Timothy4:13-16

One way Timothy could read his potentiom was to study, ponder and practice the doctrines of the church. By doing so, Timothy had to school himself as well as implement the things by his examples and that he said will save himself and others.

Such a powerful truth.

There is no success without an education.

Therefore man must try his best to get the right form of education which will set him apart from all others. It may also include unlearning previously held beliefs which hinders progress.

After all, Jesus Christ who is believed to be the master teacher learned a trade in carpentry.
