The Biz Never Sleeps is the second album from "the diabolical" Biz Markie, released in 1989. This is the record with "just a friend" ...you know, the "girl you got what i need" song, which is probably his most famous song, even though real any real hip head would say "make the music with your mouth, biz" is way more classic.
Anyway, "Spring Again" is another single off that record-and this is just kinda an upbeat happy number to negate the downer vibes of "just a friend." I try to pull this one out every year around this time to get the spring vibes pumping!
The highlights of Biz's career are definitely those first two records and the stuff he collaborated on in that era, but Biz Markie is definite a legendary entertainer and still tours regularly...well, you know, before covid life.
The main sample comes courtesy of this track from this funky disco soul song by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway from 1979.
So check out a couple of vintage numbers and get outside and enjoy that beautiful weather!
