I have planted several fruit trees on my roof, since it is not possible to put enough soil on the roof because the load will fall too much, so care must be taken if the trees are to bear fruit well in the small soil, I have been growing two trees for quite some time. I have received beautiful results from two vegetables. One is a pepper plant and the other is a brinjal plant. Both of my trees have vegetables.
