“Good morning, Sunshine!” You literally hear the ocean greet you at sunrise here at Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark’s Mactan Suite Ocean View room.
For only Php 6, 000 (roughly $125US dollars), you get to spend your weekend off with your kids and loved ones in a spacious one-bedroom family suite and a breakfast buffet at The Abalone Restaurant for two.
Over the long weekend, my partner booked two deluxe rooms at this 5-star Island Resort in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. One for our small family. Another for our nanny and her two daughters. Upon checking in as early as 11 am, their sweetest reception staff gave me an option for a free upgrade and a free early check in and late check out on our last day. We ended up staying at Jpark’s in-demand (and already fully-booked) Mactan Suite Ocean View Room!
The room itself is a catch for its price. It has a huge living room, a tidy kitchen complete with a mini-fridge, bar, microwave, and fixtures, a huge king-size (or double size) bedroom, completely modern and spacious bathroom with a tub and the highlight, a relaxing balcony-terrace facing the Hilutungan channel, Cebu’s infamous waterway fabled for its much-visited diving sites.
It was certainly a lucky day when I got offered a free upgrade. Everywhere I checked, all of Jpark’s Mactan Suite Ocean View Rooms are fully booked for the weekend and the next. Apparently, it is Jpark’s most high-demand listing.

This is the promo that we got on the 19th of May 2021. Since it booked the dates during the weekdays, that's when we got the free upgrade to a Mactan Suite and we were able to avail the free early check-in and late check-out which was really convenient because we have a two and old baby and we were able to relax in our room for a little bit and not in a rush to miss out a lot of things we could to do on the first day of our visit.
