Complete insanity

I almost choked in my coffee this morning when I was reading the newspaper. On the front page a so called "elite" scientist called, Anne-Mieke Vandamme, has a so called exit-strategy to get out of this lockdown situation here in Belgium.
The current measures would get slowly reduced back to normal for the working population, but everybody above 65 years of age should stay in quarantine until spring of next year, when probably the vaccine for Covid-19 should arrive.

I kid you not! 65 plus, and you need to stay at home for the next year! That is complete insanity. A scientist that states such things has lost all credibility for me. It shows that these people have no common sense. Not being able to have any physical social contact in a period of a year? That is emotionally unbearable for just about anyone. Except maybe people with Asperger-syndrome, but that is besides the point.
The longer this charade of scientists and so called experts goes on, the more ridiculous it gets. The weirdest things get said, and everyone has another opinion. And the sad part is, the media loves this kind of stuff, and keeps giving these people a platform to state their delusional thoughts, and project them onto society.

I have checked, and Dr. Vandamme is at the age of 60, so I hope for her, that this pandemic doesn't take longer than 5 years, or she will lock herself up...
