After being closed for 8 weeks, the school are getting to re-open this Friday. They will not open in full force but step by step.
The government has decided that in the Primary Schools only the first, second and sixt grade will start! Luckily or unlucky for us our sons both will resume classes.
The oldest one will start again this Friday. And from them on he will need to to go school each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8.30 till noon. The classes are split into 2. The number of students in a class are dependent on the number of square meters which are available. This could result in situation where in another school, the second grades will not restart due to the lack of teachers and class rooms.
The youngest one will start next Tuesday. He will go from then on 2 days a week to school. Each Tuesday and Friday. But in contrast to his older brother he will have to go from 8.30 till 15.00.
The rules which were mailed to us, are pretty strict. Even so far, that they are assigned a specific square from the playground for during the breaks and they may only play with the kids from their class and in their square.
While I do think that it would be great for them, to have real social interaction again, it of course also opens the door a little bit more for the virus to enter the house. Scientist are still debating if the kids can transmit the virus to the adults or not. Time will tell I guess.
This will also decrease the pressure on a lot of parent who are working from home. At the moment we are trying to do our work, but also have to be their teacher and entertainer. Preteaching will stop when the school re-open for these grades. Which will decrease the pressure when they are at school, giving us more time to focus on our job.
So these moments will occur less:
I do wonder when and if normal life will start again. But at least this is a step into that direction. The government are at the moment in a real catch 22. No matter what they decide they will be always people in favor or against the decision. People are still selfish and for sure when their financial situation could be affected.
