IMG_7499.jpgImmediately after passing through the passages of Angeiras, going down a magnificent beach of S. Paio, beginning to execute two proposals: a visit to the Chapel of S. Paio, built in 1885,
A curiosity of this castro is that it is the only known maritime settlement in Portugal, it was discovered in the 1950s by Fernando Lanhas and D. Domingos de Pinho Brandão.
However, the years passed and part of the material was not valued and thus destroyed, due to the lack of an archaeological methodology.
In the 90s the same destruction was stopped, leaving what we can still see of it today

A sturdy chapel that survived the storms that pass by the sea and with stunning views at the top of Monte de Sampaio.
The windows fit very well in the scene because they portray the life of fishermen on a nearby beach, but there we go, in the next post...
Subsequently, there was a project for the valorization and requalification of the site, which resulted in its high valuation.

After some difficult access routes and stairs, we reach the rocky area that provides this area, in which we have a charming viewpoint over the Labruge beaches
