Lady in a bonnet - expressive water color

Today I felt like using my canson heritage watercolor paper to paint this portrait. I'm learning to accept that canson heritage does not love the wet on wet technique, at least from my experience. I've found that one layer is sufficient and when you start playing with two to three layers, the paper has this weird texture and I don't like it. So I stuck with one layer and just painting in a way that allowed the paint to form hard lines because of the effect I was going for.
