Good day, fellow art enthusiasts! I hope everyone is doing well. I'm pleased to share with you the new piece of art made of coffee.
Creating depth in a forest painting is necessary to convey the feeling of being engaged and immersed in the woods. It's not just about making the trees look far away, but about creating a sense of distance, light, space, and atmosphere that draws the viewer into the woodland scene, rather than simply looking at a flat image. It's all about creating the illusion of distance and space within a forest scene.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me fifty minutes to finish it. For those interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
š Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
š Pencil and Eraser
š Coffee Powder
š 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
š Ruler
š Clean Water
š Rag
š Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
š Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
š Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
š Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
ā¢ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
ā¢ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
ā¢ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
ā¢ The same procedure with the foreground.
ā¢ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
ā¢ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
Painting Process:
This is the finished painting of "Creating Depth In Forest Landscape"
