Celebrating Teachers.

Hey readers.

Good morning and happy new week. I had an exciting and emotional weekend. Friday being teachers week, I was so amazed by how far i have gone in this journey. The lives I have touched and impacted. Its been a hell of a ride but trust me it's really worth it.

We teachers have a unique and important responsibility of preparing future generations for the society. They may play a teachers role, but that is not who they are to the kids; they are friends, advisors, and even part of their family. Appreciating teachers and celebrating them is important as this is the only way people who they have impacted can show appreciation for effort, commitment and impact of the teachers.

I don't know what you think of teachers, but to me we are the best. Being able to make the learners curious and get them to start questioning things. They develop conditions where learners can comfortably speak, ask questions, and especially, discuss.

The pupils or students all come from a home where their parents are models but the teachers also play a role of modeling. Personal attributes like endurance, compassion, honesty, and respect are so easy to learn from the teacher than even the parents sometimes. Teachers are able to teach students it is alright not to be perfect and okay to fail, but it is not okay to give up.

To me teachers don't just need a special week or day to be celebrated, it should be everyday. We are makers.
We don't ask for plenty, something as easy as writing a thank you card, bringing in food, or even a verbal kind word goes a long way.
Teachers are really important personalities due to their knowledge and the responsibilities they undertake but the society of today underrates that. Teachers when treated as important, feel motivated to extend their efforts in their teaching duties, which in turn produces good results in the educational systems.

The role of a teacher can't just be exhausted. The pain sometimes you go through just to make your pupils and students feel alright, sitting hours yo formulate lesson notes, assignments, note check, students checkup and sometimes you need to stay back to do extra lessons for the dull ones. Sometimes we use our own personal money to finance this and purchase materials to be able to help the process of learning go well. It takes a passionate person that cares for others to be able to do all this. Take for example during the COVID-19 pandemic, where everywhere was locked down and there was nothing, some workers rested but we teachers never did.

A person like me had to hold online classes especially for the senior students that were about taking their final exams. I hardly slept that period.
Therefore I think teachers should be applauded and appreciated for the long hours they work and commitment they have for the job. Honoring what they do is not only about appreciation of their efforts itโ€™s about realizing the values they bring to future generations.

I'm proud to be a Teacher
