[Gods Unchained] Begginer's Tips !

Hello Guys !

After playing a few matches with some of our new players, i realized there is a few things that newbies may not be noticing. Well i must say one of them i learned yesterday, after nearly 30 matches played. So i will start with this one. I hope you can make good use from it !

What is and how does Favor work ?

You can see in this screenshot the Square called SANCTUM. Well took me a lot to realize what was going on here, so i had to test a few things in SOLO mode.

During the match, you will gain favor points, that can be used to trade into Cards from the SANCTUM. To check this cards, you have to click on the far right of your screen. You will see the 3 cards there. Each card have a different cost and usability. The same 3 cards are shown for each player, and as soon as you pick one of them, it will be replaces by another at the end of the turn. Cards are divided into 3 different categories. Defenders, Threats and Answers. Check the best that suits you, and pick it up before your opponent does !

As an aggro deck player, i always keep looking into healings or frontline units, to pick it up before my opponent does. These cards can mess up my game plan badly.

So how do we get favor points ?

1 - By attacking the enemy god (does not work for the War God Slayer hability tho)

2 - destroying an enemy unit (your unit must survive, otherwise both players won't get any points) using spells to destroy the unit will also grant you favor points.

Favor gain scales every turn that passes. On the first turn doing one of the above, will grant you 1 favor. On the second turn you will get 2 favors and in the third turn 3 favors. All other turns from this point will give you 3 favors only.

The mana Weel

Well, the mana weel is very simple to understand, but it has a small trick that will probably @#$@#$ you up once, so be carefull.

image.png

You will realize that each turn that passes, you will start with one extra mana. Starting from 01 mana on the first turn, scaling up to 5 mana on turn 5. But from now on things get different, and the next mana's will need more turns to unlock as each turn only one piece will be filled.

So where is the problem here ?

The problem is if you think that using one mana sack (those little triangles under your nickname) will get you to 6 mana if you just reached 5. It won't. It will just fill part of it and your mana sack will have been wasted. If you want the extra mana at this point, you will need to first spent some of yours, in order to the mana sack give you a full mana.

The Void

Sometimes i am distracted or my opponent moves to fast, and i can't see what he played or what happened in the board, so there is a way to check what he played.

On the green square, you can click it and access yours and your opponents Void, and check what cards were played.

Use your opponent's turn to Think !

While your opponent is playing, use this time to read all the cards, and forsee possible combos that might give you a good advantage on the board. Sometimes the best decision is to attack the enemy unit, even if you are an aggro player like me.

Cards Habilities makes the whole difference

The more you play the more used to you deck you will be. This will make it easier for you to spot those simple but effective combos. I have lost count how many times these simple cards habilites turned the whole game in my favor. +1/+1 stats is more powerfull then it seems. Surprising your opponent with this buffs can ruin they entire plan, and give you an enormous advantage on the board.
