To all my fashionistas out there, hope you are all well,
This is my first fashion blog, for I never really saw my self as any kind of expert on what looks good with what. People always thought I was a little weird and I just kind of went with it.
I've been in love with fashion for my entire life. As a kid I honestly believed, I'd become a designer so I watched all the runway shows and loved to pretend I was in the next Top model. This ofcourse happened behind the tightly closed doors. I was never the cool girl, never the one that dresses in the hot and trendy. Not just that I could not afford it but also I never felt like anyone would notice me anyway.
I unfortunatly have no talent behind the sewing machine. I was drawing designs for clothing and shoes for as long as I can remember but also had noone to show them to. Noone could make them for me so I needed to express myself in a diferent way.
Painting has always been my thing and so I decided that painting on clothes and shoes was the way to show the world something diferent not just about my style but also my skill. I took my dad's acrylics and bought myself a set of new brushes and just went for it.
Mostly I just bought the pieces I painted on. And so I went and found some canvas white shoes. Obviously wearing them white would mean you had to combine them with a dash of spice, to stand out. But when I was done with them, a little black dress was all you needed. And they went on anything simple really. Jeans and a crop-top, even shirt dresses if they were the right color.
This was my first pair and after that it was not just about the new, I even started to paint on my old shoes and clothes to make them look new and fresh. Allstars were always a classic for me. Is it just me, or do they go well on anything. People are even marrying in them.
I had this pair for over 5 years. After 5 years red becomes boring and I became a tattoo artist. I needed something that would just go with my work stuff so something traditional was the next step.
Now I will probably never really follow trends and dress like the real fashion experts do. I will always be the one who just absorbs all the dress ups of the cool people like you on this beautiful hive runway. Now I encourage you all today, to just dare and do something diferent. Something that has YOU written all over it. It might be a witchy talisman, a bowtie in a crazy color. Fear of what others think of you, should be as empty as my cup of tea at this moment. And I know it's easier said than done but let's just try to express and show a little bit more of US, one day at a time.
I just believe that fashion is a way to express and this is and will be a way to express myself. Man you should see the sandals I bought last week. And the strips are removable so now I am researching silk paints, so I can do something crazy again. Stay tuned.
