Metal collection day and chairs to repair. Saving things from the landfill.

So I was back on the road this week and picked up several salvageable items. Chairs are one of my favorite finds. I like to make a new plywood base and then cover in a thick outdoor fabric.

This set of chairs are counter height and made of steel. Everything is in good shape, but new bases are needed.

Above are two other great finds on the same day. The white cabinet is all metal and a neat little storage cabinet. The pool lounger is metal with wheels. It folds flat. This is a good one because it only needs a cushion to complete. Or even a blow up pool float as a mattress. I might want to repaint it, but overall it is in good shape.

Finally, there is a regular height metal chair that is very similar in design to the two counter height chairs. And there's a broken swivel chair. The only problem is the base was made of particle board which is broken. Plywood should fix that one.

I will spend the next few days repairing and most of these will then be resold. As scrap, they are worth a dollar or two, but I expect to make a good bit more once I have upscaled these!

So what have you found that you saved from the landfill?
