Though shocked, I kept walking until I stumbled upon a graveyard. And on the tombstone was scribbled the name ‘Gabrielle Danes,’ with my photo, and my birthday.
Why was my name written on someone’s tombstone?
Why was my photo and birthday in there, too?
My brain exploded. ‘Boom!’ My knees buckled as my feet turned icy and glued to the ground. I was lost for words. Then, my surroundings swayed and spun like I was sucked into a whirlpool until everything went black. - @idlemind

"Get in before the door closes…"
Juliet turned her head and looked toward the front of the house. She ran her eyes over the window, toward the kitchen to the front door then to the other window at her left the one she'd been peeking through.
Did the curtains move? There was no breeze in the house, there was no reason for the curtains to move. She looked away, shaking her head, she hadn't seen the curtains move. It wasn't possible. She pulled in a deep breath and held it for a moment before letting it out loudly, as she slowed stomped over to the window she'd been standing at before, and slapped the curtains to the side, peering out of the field. - @ubani1
Home Alone
And so, her lips started to tremble and then she started to scream, mouth open wide, wide and bawling. She was holding her belly and screaming: screaming so that a snake would think twice before crawling under her bed again; screaming so that a mouse would think twice before chipping up paper and thinking to make a nest for its young among her clothes again; screaming so that a tarantula spider would think twice before crawling across her walls again; screaming so that the shadows would think twice before dancing with the flames again; screaming so that douens would think twice, soucouyants would think twice, the bat would think twice before flying in to pluck another fig again. - @trifecta
Staircase Rendesvouz
I still slowly walk. I don't take a faster pace. Never. Just the thought of potentially hearing running sounds freaks me out. I know it follows my steps, so it would have been a real slasher movie moment if it sounded like it was chasing me. Brisk walking or running is just out of the question. Besides, I'm still trying to keep this charade that I don't notice it.

When clichés are footprints on our minds, or Ursula writes a novel
Cover created using a canva template
Ursula pursed her lips to the side as she scrutinised those words. If you modified a cliché, she wondered, did it remain cliché? She was overcome with uncertainty and declared to the world that she had writer’s block. She understood this condition to be one which afflicted the greatest of minds, and she was confident that she was in good company. She turned in her seat, readjusted her flattened maroon cushion and sighed. It was a long drawn-out expression of her intention to be artistic, yet the inclination of her mind was to wonder what she’d prepare for dinner. She quickly dismissed this thought, however, as inconsequential... - @lordtimoty
Compassion
Male visitors are not allowed to enter, only to approach the fence to deliver things. There is a large yard, visible from the outside, where the prisoners wait for the "package" brought by their relatives. Today I saw that they cleared that yard and left the prisoners farther away, it becomes more difficult to recognize if the person is there waiting.
I was sure the man I was visiting was not there, but he already knew I was coming, so I waited. Half an hour later, I went over and asked them to call him. There is a checkpoint there where there are several officials in military uniform. That's on the outside, where I am. On the inside, at the same point, there are several armed prisoners who have a control that is difficult to understand.. - @amaponian
