How was your weekend? Mine was an absolute blast! I'm a huge Swiftie and Taylor Swift has always been one of my favorite when it comes to music and song writing. I remember back in high school, my friends and I would always gather in the cafeteria during our breaks, belting out Taylor's hits while my friend strummed her guitar. Picture to Burn and You Should've Said No were our go-to songs back then.
Ah, those were the good old days. I've been a fan of Taylor ever since her early days, even before Love Story was released. Her music captivated me then, and it still does now.
As you may know, Taylor Swift will be performing in Southeast Asia as part of her Eras Tour, and the only stop in this region is Singapore. This will be on March 2024 at Singapore's National Stadium for 6 days.
As a die-hard Swiftie, I desperately wanted to see her perform live on stage, but alas, Singapore is a bit out of our budget (haha!). Nevertheless, it was a delightful surprise to discover that Ayala Malls was hosting a series of listening parties in their malls.
The best part? Admission was free! Swifties of all ages and genders gathered together to sing along while Taylor's songs played on the big screen.
And so I wasted no time and went to Ayala Bloc last Sunday. I had an absolute blast attending the listening party for the release of her re-recorded album, Speak Now. Even though my boyfriend isn't a Taylor fan himself, he was so supported and lovingly accompanied me. We found ourselves in the middle of the crowd, and I appreciated how protective he was, always keeping me close whenever the bustling crowd became too much to handle. He's such a sweetheart.
It was simply magical to listen to Taylor's old songs again especially when you have a huge crowd of people singing along and just jamming in the moment. Taylor wasn’t even there but it was as if we have her on stage.
Speak Now is actually one of my favorite albums of her, The lyrics, the melodies, everything about Speak Now brings back a flood of nostalgic memories from my youth.
Can you believe that the album was actually released in 2010? I can still vividly remember my 17-year-old self, singing along to her music videos on MYX TV. And here I am, 13 years later, still a devoted TayTay fan.
I couldn't have asked for a happier weekend, and I sincerely hope yours was just as amazing.
Till next story!
xoxo
