Introvert in a Rage: A Story of Bullies, Boundaries, and Self-Respect

Although I'm not big on fighting or having alterations with people, probably due to my introverted nature and preference for minding my business, however, I can remember there have been few occasions that I indulged in a physical fight with someone else. It's worth noting that I'm not proud of such moments, however, so things just happen that our emotions can't handle, leading to us taking actions into our own hands, and today I'll tell you about one or two of such personal experiences I've had, what led to it, and how it ended.

Like I said earlier, I'm not much of a fighter, and that's why the last time I remember myself getting into a physical fight was way back during my high school days. Back then, just like now, I was an introvert, but far worse, as I'm even timid, and got pushed around by my classmates. But on this particular day, I guess I got tired of being treated like shit and just decided to take action against the one anchoring this particular taunt.

So we were inside the classroom waiting for the lesson teacher who usually teaches us in the weekend to come in, and all of a sudden we could smell an awkward smell, meaning someone had farted. For some reason most people look towards the back because that's where the smell was coming from, and unfortunately I happen to be one of those sitting in the back seat. Before anyone could say Jack, a boy close to where I sit quickly looked at me and claimed I was the one who farted. This angers me, and I can't help but think he's probably the one who did, but in order to remove himself from being suspected, he quickly looked for someone to push it on, and luckily there was the timid me next to him.

After saying that, other students looked at me awkwardly, and I tried to clear myself, but the boy kept on talking, and even in the process, he gave me a very bizarre name that got everyone laughing. I was boiling with anger, and while he was still busy cracking his jokes and laughing, I didn't know when I stood up and closed the gap between us and had a fist landed in his cheek, which threw him off balance and drew some blood from his mouth.

I guess he never expects me to act like that, and out of anger he stood up and came back to a fighting position with me, which we exchanged punches for a few minutes, but the anger within me from what he said and every other memory of how I've been taunted by others got me in a rage mood, leading me to overpower him and beat till others students separated us, but not before something that saved me from those accusations happened.

Apparently while I was punching him with anger, he mistakenly released a louder fart that everyone hears, and while they were still laughing about it, everyone quickly realized the bad smell coming from his fart was identical to the one from earlier that I was accused of. This was a relief on my part, as all laughter and savage words were now directed towards him. While I walked back to my seat, luckily for me it wasn't a normal school day, so I won't be punished by school authority for fighting, since the lesson was being organised by few teachers during the weekend.

Although I never got involved in another fight after that particular one throughout my high school days, I must say that the way I dealt with the boy that day sent a signal to every other person that I'm not someone to mess with.
