An amazing weekend to one and all! It made me realize how grateful I am when I was in my childhood days. It was not the same though when it is compared to our young individuals today.

My Childhood Experiences

I used to play slipper games, Japanese games, Ball games using firewood, flying kites, etc. with my friends. I noticed our games before could belong to physical activities wherein we could finish our play bathed with sweat and get home with stinky and dirty shirts😊.

Despite the experienced that we got scolded and reprimanded by our parents because of the play we had, I will still be thankful for the great and unforgettable experience!

Today, since it is modern days, young people were used to playing with gadgets, computers, etc. Only a few were still practicing the games we used to play before.

What Made me Happy?

I came out of the house at around 5 PM and I saw these young individuals playing in the vacant area near our house.

I saw them playing the kite and I asked them if they were the ones who made it. They immediately respond and said "Yes".

I was happy then and old memories were brought back when I was still in my younger years.

What they used with their kite?

They used garbage and transparent plastics for their kite. They used nylon threads to tie and bond the kite.

First, they fixed the kite to make a tie that could balance when it flies. He tried to make the kite fly using the nylon in his hands and fixed it again.

The First Fly

They tried to make the kite fly but it was out of balance and trapped in the tree. The first try was not successful. They fixed it again make a balance and checked the nylon thread.

The Second Try

This time he carefully supported the kite to fly and the end tie was supported by his friend. It flew but got unbalanced and suddenly drop to the ground. They were laughing even though their kite was not flying successfully.

Another batch used to try their handmade kite which is made of garbage plastic. He advised his friend to hold the end tie and he will support the kite to fly, by the time he releases the kite, his friend will hold the tie and pull the knot to make it fly.

Their first try was successful. The kite has its proper balance that enjoy and flew above the sky. How nice to see the kite above the sky while the young individuals were happily watching the kite dance with the wind.

I enjoyed this weekend watching them play this kite and am thankful that even though modern technologies were introduced they choose to play this handmade kite.

SELF REALIZATION

Upon watching these young individuals playing the kite, I came to realize that our life is like a kite, we need to balance and may need others to support us to fly. The first flight may not be successful, there may be hindrances or even obstacles encountered along the way but one thing that you should do is just "keep on trying". It is not maybe our time to fly but God had set a "Perfect Time" for each one of us.

That's all for now hivers! Hope everyone experiences a nice weekend. See you in my next blog and God bless everyone.
