Hi everyone! Today I bring you part 2 of my weekend at the gay pride march.
Hola a todos! Hoy les traigo la parte 2 de mi fin de semana en la marcha del orgullo gay.
As I had told you before, it is a march that takes place in different parts of the world.
Como les había contado anteriormente, es una marcha que se realiza en distintas partes del mundo a la cual asiste mucha gente.
I always attend the one that takes place in Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires, Argentina where people gather in different trucks playing music or speaking with loudspeakers. In the afternoon, together with them we headed towards the National Congress , approximately 8 blocks away; in order to bring its different slogans (which change every year) to the place where the laws are enacted.
Yo asisto siempre a la que se realiza en Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires, Argentina en donde se reúnen personas en distintos camiones reproduciendo música o hablando con altavoces. A la tarde, junto a ellos nos dirigimos hacia el Congreso de la Nación, aproximadamente a unas 8 cuadras; con el fin de llevar sus distintos lemas (que cambian cada año) al lugar donde se sancionan las leyes.
The central themes of this march were:
- New anti-discrimination law
- Law of comprehensive response to HIV, viral hepatitis, STIs and tuberculosis
- Secular state
- Social and labor rights for sex workers
- Enough of police and institutional violence
Los temas centrales de esta marcha fueron:
Entre otras cosas.
- Nueva ley antidiscriminatoria
- Ley de respuesta integral al VIH, hepatitis virales, ITS y tuberculosis
- Estado laico
- Derechos sociales y laborales para trabajadoras sexuales
- Basta de violencia policial e institucional
Although it is a political act, it is also a space where we unleash ourselves a bit and forget for a while the limitations we have on a daily basis in this cis heterosexual system . And we obviously enjoy it.
Si bien es un acto político, también es un espacio en donde nos desatamos un poco y nos olvidamos por un rato de las limitaciones que tenemos a diario en este sistema cis heterosexual. Y obviamente lo disfrutamos.
Despite the party that each march becomes, we always have those who cannot attend because they are gone. Like for example, Tehuel . That he is a trans boy who disappeared several months ago and that the police are no longer looking for. We still don't know where he is.
A pesar de la fiesta que se convierte cada marcha, siempre tenemos presentes a quienes no pueden asistir porque ya no están. Como por ejemplo, Tehuel. Que es un chico trans que desapareció hace varios meses y que la policía ya no busca. Todavía no sabemos en donde está.
That day we also use it to make our existence visible. People carry banners, flags, we put on makeup and dress differently every day because we seek to attract attention so that they see us and begin to respect us.
Ese día también lo utilizamos para visibilizar nuestra existencia. La gente lleva pancartas, banderas, nos maquillamos y vestimos de forma distinta a todos los días porque buscamos llamar la atención para que nos vean y empiecen a respetarnos.
I really love going to marches. I am always accompanied by people who are important to me. This Saturday I went with my girlfriend, my sister and two friends. We had a great time, dancing and drinking, we had a lot of fun.
Realmente amo ir a las marchas. Siempre voy acompañada de gente importante para mí. Este sábado fui con mi novia, una amiga nuestra, mi hermana y su amiga. La pasamos muy bien, bailando y bebiendo, nos divertimos mucho.
Towards the end, in the Congress, there were some singers that we like and we stayed to see them.
Hacia el final, en el Congreso, estuvieron unas cantantes que nos gustan y nos quedamos a verlas.
