Cars aren't really one of my interests. When I was 20 years old, I got my student permit for driver's license application. In our city, we are required to enroll in an 8 hour driving school before we could take the theoretical and practical exam to get our driver's license. During this time, i've already been practicing my driving skills with my dad. Although, I always have a problem with parking, I somehow managed to passed the exam and got my driver's license. But up to this day, im still not driving.
When my officemates and I decided to try kart racing for our team engagement activity, I was so thrilled and excited. We arrived at KartZone around 3pm in the afternoon. The heat was raging like fire. Good thing we applied sun block before hand.
Just to be clear, the karts that the establishment offer isn't really a car, but it has wheels, brake pedal and accelerator. For safety reasons, the sides of the Kart is covered with rubber. We also rented a mask for helmets for hygiene purposes. Now, we're good to go!
The group was divided into 2 batches. The first batch are the beginners, myself included. While the second batch are the frequent drivers. For those who doesn't like to drive, they can opt to be a passenger princess.
Before the start of the race, the staff gave a few reminders to the racers. One thing that we should avoid is pressing both the break and the accelerator simultaneously. This will heat up the engine and who knows what'll happen.
In order to complete the race, drivers have to complete an 8 round lap in the track. As a competitive gal, i was secretly aiming to place in the finish line. I was one of the front runners in the first few rounds but unfortunately my kart crash twice during the race which automatically put me behind.
After the race, one of our senior manager treated us some pizza and pastries since everyone was already hungry.
Despite not achieving my goal, i had so much fun. I might try learning how to drive again and save enough money to buy my own car in the future.
