The Big Bad Wolf Experience | Weekend at SM Seaside City

Hello, Hive!

I am now back after two weeks because it was our prelims week and I decided to focus more on the exams. (Do I expect more of this?😭) Kidding aside, I am back to share my weekend experience because Big Bad Wolf is back in Cebu!

After a very long and excruciatingly painful two weeks of prelim exams and activities, I spent my weekend at The Biggest and Baddest Book Sale in SM Seaside City!

The BBW started on September 15 and ended last Sunday, October 1. Let me walk you through how it went.

A Little Storytime

When Big Bad Wolf announced that it was coming back to Cebu, my friend immediately asked me to come as we have always shared a love for books. Of course, without any thought, I agreed. We decided to come earlier because we were so excited. Unfortunately, our prelim exams were fast approaching so we had to cancel our plan. It went on for days until we decided to go on a weekend and it was sadly their last day here in Cebu.

The Big Bad Wolf Experience

I have stayed for already a month here in the City but I have never been anywhere far because I am scared of commuting. But I just can't miss this day!

We left home at 10 because we wanted to arrive earlier to avoid getting stuck with many people since it was the last day. However, we still arrived at noon and there was already a flock of people inside the mall. We immediately headed to the Cube Wing, where the fair is situated.

As we arrived, we were immediately greeted by lots of people looking for books and of course, the thousands of books on display! I felt my inner child jump out of joy as I saw books with different genres on sale. My junior high school self would've been so happy.

There were so many books from all genres. From Young Adult, Science Fiction, Crime Thriller, Romance, and Literature to Self-help, Cooking, Business, Photography, Travel, and Children's Books and many more– they have it all.

We immediately went in to check for the books we wanted. I was very amazed and really happy I got to come even on the last day. I was overwhelmed by the number of books I saw so I just took my time admiring every story written on those pieces of paper. I really wanted to buy them all. 😭

BOOKS I BOUGHT

I had a very hard time choosing what books to buy because there were so many great options but I only allotted enough money for books.

Clockwise to Titan

This book piqued my interest because I love how it's very intriguing when I read the synopsis. I also remembered reading something similar when I was in junior high school so it brought out a memory.

The Killer You Know

To be honest, I have picked the most books from the Crime Thriller section because everything I saw piqued my interest. It was so fascinating to see many books that offer great stories that was why I had a hard time. However, I only ended up buying one because I want to vary the genres of the books that I buy. Also, I have always found crime thrillers very interesting because it makes my heart race out of excitement and makes me think of what happens next.

Every Hidden Thing

This was a last pick for me. I was just intrigued by the title at first and I loved the book cover so I looked it up and I liked the reviews it got online.

The Shadows We Know By Heart

This was one of the last books I decided to buy. I saw it at a very hidden place but I got it because I loved the book cover. 😭 (proof that book covers do have an impact) I read the synopsis at the back and I immediately thought that it was a sad book. Then I looked it up and it was very interesting. I also thought my sister would like it so I decided to buy it.

My experience at the Big Bad Wolf was memorable as I finally lived my junior high school dream. Though I hoped I was able to buy more books, I know there will always be a next time.

I also had a fun time bonding with my senior high school friends whom I hadn't seen for long. After Big Bad Wolf, we decided to play a little in the arcade and went to the Skypark to witness the majestic view and as always, it didn't disappoint.

Sunday was the only rest day I had last week since I had classes from Monday to Saturday but I didn't regret spending it together with my friends because I had so much fun!

It was a weekend well spent. :)

As a book lover, I have always been a fan of going inside bookstores to admire books and look around. It makes me calm and happy knowing I am surrounded by many different but beautiful stories written by equally different but beautiful people. Also, I have people who have the same love for books– my sisters and most of my friends. That's why attending Big Bad Wolf was one of the simple dreams I am happy I lived. It's the small things, indeed.

Soon, I am also planning to be able to attend an NCT Concert! 🤞✨ Another dream I am hoping to experience. And I'd be very happy to share it here when that time comes. ☺️

Thank you for reading! Let us all remember to do things with kindness and love.♡
