Last weekend specifically on Sunday I had the opportunity to enjoy an amazing lunch with my friends from the HiveArte team @stefy.music @marysenpai @daniel2001. 馃槃 馃構 We decided to walk around the centre of the city of Maracay, we wanted to escape from the routine and spend a nice time together.
As we walked through the streets of the centre of Maracay, the heat began to make itself felt and the thirst became more and more intense. It was then that I decided to stop at a shop called "La Mansion de los sabores" (The Mansion of Flavours) that offered cold drinks to take away. A cold beer in the fridge caught my eye, and I couldn't resist trying it. I uncorked the can and immediately felt the refreshing taste of the beer. The coldness of the liquid was felt in my throat, and I was relieved from the sweltering heat outside. I shared my discovery with my friends from the HiveArte team, and quickly everyone wanted to try it. It was a good decision to stop and buy that beer (we drank one each). It refreshed us and made us feel more comfortable to continue walking and enjoying the places we had chosen to visit. Without a doubt, it was a perfect choice to combat the afternoon heat in Maracay.
As we walked down the street, a shop called "Empanadisima" caught our attention. The smell of the freshly made cachapas captivated us and made us go in. The service was very friendly and we quickly sat down at one of the tables at the entrance. The weather was pleasant although sunny, we were warm and with a gentle breeze that made the atmosphere more pleasant as we accompanied it with a drink called 馃崑 "Papel贸n con Lim贸n" (very similar to lemonade) quite cold.
The view was pleasant. We could see part of the historic centre of the city, with its colonial buildings mixed with modernity and its umbrellas providing shade for the people who were also having lunch. From there, we started to check out the menu and the options offered by the restaurant.
Finally, we decided to order cachapas with cheese and hallaquitas criollas de chicharr贸n. Although they were typical dishes, they had been prepared in a delicious way and with fresh ingredients. Moreover, the portions were generous and filled our appetites.
Cachapa is a very popular culinary delicacy in Venezuela, especially in the central region of the country, where the tender corn used for its preparation is grown, Aragua being one of those important and main states in corn production. It is a typical meal for breakfast or lunch, and is usually accompanied with drinks such as orange juice, coffee or hot chocolate, beers, papel贸n with lemon.
While we were enjoying our meal, we started talking about the art projects we were doing with the HiveArte team. It was a very interesting moment, as each of us has a different vision on how to create and present a work of art. It was enriching to hear each other's ideas and opinions and to be able to reflect on how to improve and grow as a group.
The hallaquita de chicharr贸n is a typical Venezuelan dish that is usually served as part of breakfast or lunch. It consists of a kind of bun made of corn dough that is filled with chicharr贸n, a type of pork that is slow-cooked until crispy.
After lunch, we decided to take a walk through the city centre. There were many interesting places to visit and admire. As a team of artists.
All in all, lunch with my friends from the HiveArte team was a very rewarding experience. We were able to share a pleasant moment, taste the typical food of the region and enjoy the beauty of the historic city centre. It also allowed us to talk about our art projects and learn from each other.
It's always nice to get to know more of Hive's friends. It was a very nice Sunday lunch. Thanks for reading me. See you soon!
