On Saturday my daughter and I met with my niece who had to travel alone from Mexico to Venezuela, due to the death of her father.
Well, actually my niece is my cousin's daughter, almost like a sister, since she was a little girl she calls me aunt, because of the family bond we have always had, she and my daughter grew up very close since they were little and although today they are women, for me they are still little girls.
It was an emotional meeting, more than five years without seeing each other, she told us what she had gone through because of her father's illness, he had been hospitalized a week before and she had bought the tickets to come to take care of him, but unfortunately he lost the battle with that terrible disease. It was on Saturday, after the burial, that we were able to see each other and in those moments we were together all afternoon, it was a mutual support and accompaniment in difficult moments.
Just in those recent days, when a loved one has gone ahead of us at the end of the road of our life, we must fill ourselves with that strength, to share it with those who are going through similar situations that we have also had to live.
To clear my mind a bit, after lunch, we walked all afternoon and for the Christmas Eve that is already visible in the center of Caracas.
I was surprised to see how in the Metro station, the large spaces are decorated with lights, symbolizing the beginning of Christmas.
In spite of not feeling joy internally, because of the nostalgia for our loved ones who are not with us, it is a reason to draw the strength to give that encouragement, thinking that they are already that light that accompanies us.
We took the opportunity to take pictures of this beautiful encounter.
