#ThoughtfulDailyPost - Riches and Genius

zekethoughtsmusic.jpg

My weekly #thoughtfuldailypost habit has slipped the last couple weeks due to so much going on but I am working on getting back to it starting now! @Wesphilbin waves the flag for us and runs @thoughtfulposts as the curation account that rewards thoughtful posts. Please join us in sharing your positive vibes on the blockchain and consider delegating.

I present a couple thoughtful posts that caught my attention, made me think a little, and motivated me to share with the world for #thoughtfuldailypost. Plus a little bonus music to match each.

How Rich?

@anugov1 apparently doesn't exist on Twitter, instagram or even #hive so I am not sure I can properly link this gem!

When I grow up. Funny statement really. It infers, along with the ridiculous dialogue, that the author is young and still identifies as not grown up. I can identify with that! When you get older, you can drop an instant joke about "when I grow up" and I heard that when you get to a certain age and haven't grown up, you don't have to.

I have been thinking about the changing of times when it comes to kids, school, and career. In my day, you graduated high school with grades as high as possible so that you could go to university. If you were short on grades, or money, you went to college. If you couldn't do that, the booby prize was a trade or factory job. How bass ackwards is that? Spend your whole youth going a hundred thousand dollars in debt just so you could land a job and make lots of money as a university graduate. Get rich, buy expensive stuff, live a comfy lifestyle and drive a fancy car.

I love the trend of encouraging kids to take a trade and consider that as much as going to university. I love that carbon foot print is on the minds of youth and that there is a boujee sentiment that shopping locally, living within modest means, growing your own food and being a good community and global citizen is en vogue! That is rich indeed!

This song has been on my mind for the last 2 months through rehearsals and our show but being rich sounds like 2 tickets to paradise with Eddie Money!

Talent & Genuis

Arthur Shopenhauer is a German philosopher who " had a posthumous impact across various disciplines, including philosophy, literature, and science. His writing on aesthetics, morality, and psychology have influenced many thinkers and artists." Imagine your body of work influencing thinkers and artists around the world and appearing on a blockchain 160 years after your death!

I often think about the difference and relationship between intelligence and wisdom. Talent would have to be a little bit of both with the aptitude of intelligence mixing with the wisdom that would come with practicing. That is how you hit a target nobody else can, and we celebrate talent with recognition, appreciation and applause.

What's the difference and relationship between talent and genius? Had me thinking. Arthur nails it so succinctly with this one as imagine being so talented that you hit a target nobody else sees. There would be less widespread applause as many wouldn't even acknowledge the target as existing let alone being hit. It also probably has a little to do with faith and vision to be aware of the target, know its value to be hit, and leverage your talent and discipline to hit it.

Kinda feels like it did back in 2017 when some of us started steeming and eventually hiving. So many don't know the target we have hit and surely we will be seen as geniuses when this phenomenon runs its course and becomes what it will!

I think Bowie is a sort of genius with his eccentricity, progressiveness, and how he has influenced many artists and thinkers like Arthur is still doing. Maybe they are hanging together in whatever afterlife there might be.
