Achtet auf (Deep) Fakes
Die Wahrheit ist das erste Opfer im Krieg.
Immer, wenn man eine sensationelle Meldung im Internet/Twitter/Social Media/TV sieht, sollte man eher defaultmäßig davon ausgehen, dass sie nicht verifiziert oder falsch sein könnte.
Dann ist man zumindest auf der sicheren Seite.
Grundsätzlich gilt, je sensationeller, schwerwiegender, außergewöhnlicher die Behauptung, desto solider müssen auch die Beweise sein.
Manipulationen können entweder Falschinformationen sein (Fakes als Wahrheit) oder umgekehrt Wahres als Fake darstellen.
Auch das Weglassen, Filtern von Information, Verschweigen von wichtigen Fakten, des Kontext ist Manipulation.

Truth is the first casualty in war.
Whenever you see a sensational report on the Internet/Twitter/Social Media/TV, you should rather assume by default that it could be unverified or false information.
Then you are at least on the safe side.
Basically, the more sensational, serious, extraordinary the claim, the more solid the evidence must be.
Manipulations can either be outright false information (fake as truth) or, conversely, present truth as fake.
Omission, filtering of information, omitting important facts, out of context is also manipulation.
