What Is Movement?

Movement was born from a simple yet powerful idea: making the Move programming language accessible and available across the entire modular blockchain ecosystem.

By bringing the Move Virtual Machine (MoveVM) to Ethereum through our novel MEVM (Move + EVM) Zero-Knowledge Layer 2 technology, we are creating a secure, scalable, and developer-friendly blockchain infrastructure that combines the best aspects of modular and monolithic architectures with the speed and safety of the Move language.

Movement has three key blockchain technologies:

1. Movement Network (M2)

The first parallelized Move-EVM Layer Two on Ethereum, combining Move's speed and security with EVM compatibility. The Movement network seeks to be a high-throughput DeFi hub with zero-knowledge scaling solutions.

2. M1

A speed-optimized, fully decentralized shared sequencer providing reliable uptime, optimized finality, and built-in formal verification.

3. The Move Stack

An execution layer framework to scale Ethereum rollups, enabling integrated blockchains with optimized shared sequencer interoperability and customizable blockspace for developers.

Guilds
