Before you judge me about not cooking. There is a reason I do not cook. But I only talk about that stuff in my Subscriber Only content on #inleo , but I am telling you, jumping into the mind of a random human like me isn’t worth 5 hbd, don’t do it, if you do I am going to feel compelled to write more exclusive only content, which I would, but you reading this is all I want :)
So ya, no cooking here. So need to save as much money as possible but also need to focus on eating as healthy as possible while getting as much protein and nutrition.
Because I am sure I can go to McDonalds and get a lot of protein for $20 but then I will feel like garbage and feel hungry again later. Just my body’s way of showing me what happens when I spike my insulin and go through the crash
You might also have scroll past or clicked on my #silverforfood posts which I have a few to make to catch up, for sure the #silvergoldstackers know what I am talking about
So a few of you know what I mean when I say I got 8 of these wraps for the price of 1 silver coin
How is this possible?
Well thanks to UberEats…
I am too lazy and feel a little sleezy to share my UberEats affiliate code.
Is that normal? Should I just do it? If you want to save money when you join uber ask me for a code we will both get a little something I think $10-$20
However. This post is about how corporations can come in clutch
I tried on DoorDash, but they are nothing compared to Ubereats.
These wraps, from a local Lebanese family restaurant, have a Buy 1 Get 1 promotion on UberEats.
They are normally $5.75 USD each but since its B1G1 its $5.75 for 2 wraps
So 8 wraps for $23 USD
Thats even less than an ounce of silver. Sometimes we get 12 wraps though so 12 for 1 oz makes more sense
These are filet mignon and the way they toast the pitas make it so the juices stay in the wrap. If you don’t toast it the pita will get all wet and soggy and break apart.
Having it the next day is even better, fresh out of the oven, hot, crispy… makes me look forward to leftovers haha
I have tried to do the math, how much does it cost to go get all this food, prepare it, deal with the smells, clean up, fuel and KM going to get the stuff…. Etc etc… instead, I can order, it’s down the street so it doesn’t take long, I get to do what I gotta do instead of cooking and cleaning, and I am getting high quality food freshly made for a good price. Makes it totally worth it. Now imagine hive was $3, and this post gets a $23 USD payout… that would be like food inception where I pay to get food to make a post that pays for the next meal but creates another post and so on and so forth… that would be a way to monetize your journal, per say
I can’t imagine how Uber makes money doing this. Or if it’s the restaurant that is eating the cost… I am not complaining either way this is fuelling my gf and I, she loves them and I am not picky. I can eat these wraps everyday as long as I get my pizza fix once in a while.
I remember a chart recently about how uber is still losing plenty of money.
During covid they went crazy with the promotions and paying the drivers good but since everyone is pretty much back to work I guess the had to wind down, I remember getting $100 off a week every week at one point but that died down a lot. I think the drivers used to get promotions too if they did a bunch of deliveries and if you look at reddit posts during that time period people were making well over $20 USD an hour doing uber with Mercedes and Audi’s dropping off your orders. Nowadays the promos have died down and the drivers are all driving fuel efficient Hondas and Toyotas just goes to show the consolidation in that space.
Just goes to show how using your eyes and ears can tell you a lot about a company.
The way I see it. If the offer is there, take it. Looking at the “offers” section can be profitable, lots of gems there.
However, something that I haven’t thought about is, if you don’t live around anything, then there is no where to order from…
The expression “they live closer to where they have the best restaurants” come from. Not sure what the exact quote is though, but goes to show things happen when populations go up.
Like with Waze, if you are somewhere super busy, the information should be super detailed and accurate as if updating basically live
But Waze in the middle of nowhere, hard to know if there isn’t a police with a speed camera down the street if there is no one to update Waze about it…
However, with Hive, doesn’t matter where we are in the outside world, we are here, right now, writing and reading off a platform built around a blockchain …. What a time to be alive
