I decided to take advantage of the BAT discount and purchase a tract, and although I just paid $1300 for said tract, rather than $850 or even $1000 a couple of months ago, this still seems cheap.
A couple of months ago $850 to $1000 seemed expensive, but following some ridiculous DEFI rewards, paying $1300 now seems cheaper to me than paying 30% less a couple a months ago!
In fact it's more than just the rewards I've made from DEFI that have prompted this investment, it's also the fact that I know @aggroed and @yabapmatt are bit fans of DEFI and the later especially of what the @leofinance team have done with CUB, and I'm 100% sure that these guys are currently designing LAND to be a fully gamified version of yield farming.
NB this is just a theory in my little brain thing, but I'm sure it's the way that @splinterlands is going to develop over the coming years, and I'm thinking that $1000 now is going to yield some insane returns during 2021-2022.
And since LAND was announced, card prices have nearly doubled, DEC appears to have become a stable coin, pegged to around $1, and LAND is well on its way to being sold out.
I hardly feel like I spent anything!
I had a 1000 LEO PD come to fruition today which was going into the CUB pool but I just bought BAT with that instead, and I also had to jiggle about my Pancake pools because of the addresses changing, so I just took 10% out of those, had 300 BAT already kicking around, and then all I had to do was take a cheeky $300 out of one of my stable pools and that was that - $1300 easy!
I'm still glad I didn't buy in the second or third promotions.
I don't keep too tight a track of my day to day earnings, but I remember I bought almost a million DEC for quite cheep, and then instead of buying a TRACT when it was on offer in the pre-sales I sold half of it for around $0.85 for ETH and RUNE and AVA, and they've more than doubled in price between them, and I bought a bunch of legendary cards with the other half, which have also at least doubled.
So TBH paying 30-40% more for my tract now is still a win! In short, I've more than doubled the money I would have spent on a tract earlier in the year, but now seems like a good time to get in as LAND supplies seem to be running a little short!
Getting back into Splinterlands and bring on the buildy-yieldy
I've also managed to get myself back up the Diamond/ Champions leagues after languishing down in gold for a month - I've just been too busy with other stuff to play, but I feel like I've got a bit of balance back.
And with the game looking bouyant, even without land, I think the future looks bright for a healthy return on this investment!
But LAND is going to be much more my thing I think - I've a long standing preference for buildy type games, especially when their buildy-yeildy!
