Where to farm points for (almost) free

Hey folks, so hopefully this latest market correction and crabbing hasn’t shaken you out yet, and apart from accumulating some more tokens in my bags, lately I’ve spent a significant part of time farming points on different projects that will hopefully yield some outsized returns. In today’s article, I’m going to be sharing some of the (mostly) free ways I’ve been accumulating points over the past couple of months.

As a disclaimer, there’s no guarantee that any of these points will turn out to be super profitable, but in my opinion there’s a very low risk-to-reward ratio as many of these require very little capital, or at the very least — just some of your time.

Without further ado, let’s dive in shall we?

Grass.io

The first project is one that I’ve written about before, which is GetGrass.io which essentially allows you to rent out your unused bandwidth in order to help accumulate data for AI models. Fortunately I have a pretty good internet connection and I’ve been able to accumulate the cap of 2.4k points per day — points which according to Whales Market have ben sold for roughly $0.002 cents per point

If you use a referral link, new referrals will receive a 5,000-point bonus upon reaching 100 hours of uptime.

Revox Content Hub

Revox Content Hub is a platform that allows curators of articles to gain points for curating different articles. In a very simple process, all you have to do is submit an article’s URL to be curated and you can accrue up to 600 points per day:

As one that sorts through many articles on a daily basis, these are relatively easy tasks that only costs cents for every curation performed. If you’re farming different alrdrops on L2s such as zkSync or Linea, this is also a good way to generate several cheap interactions while generating points at the same time.

Owlto

Speaking of easily generating different points on different blockchains, another alternative is the platform Owlto.finance, which primarily serves as a bridging protocol and smart contract deployer for various L2s and different EVM-compatible chains. By simply paying a few cents, you can either do an inscription (which once again literally costs just cents) or earn points through their daily check-in feature on one of 9 different blockchains:

As you can see from the graphic above, I tend to rotate out different transactions on different chains to increase my on-chain activity surface area. Additionally, you can earn double points if you utilize their bridging feature as well too.

Layer3

Layer3 is perhaps one of my favorite platforms that I use on a regular basis, and they have an XP point system and an already announced impending alrdrop based on how many cubes you can accrue which you can earn based on a variety of tasks:

As you can see on the timestamp from the graphic above, there’s not that much time left before the snapshot of getting the benchmarked 100 cubes, but regardless, it’s a good way to get exposure to various different blockchains. And although not publicly announced, it’s highly speculated that doing their daily ‘gm’ check-in may be a qualifier as well too.

Ruby Score

In terms of tracking and farming your activity on different L2s, one platform that helps you gauge your level of usage is Ruby Score. On a daily basis, Ruby Score provides different quests that allow you to accumulate points based on your on-chain activity:

Based on the number of points you accrue, you can earn different NFTs in correspondence with your rank:

Other (almost-free) tasks

Apart from the 5 platforms that I’ve already mentioned, if you happen to have more time, there’s several other projects in which you can earn free points, many of which that are more single-chain specific. These include:

Micro3.io: I believe you may need to mint a Micro3 ID (about $3 dollars worth of $BNB) in order to be eligible for their alrdrop, but you can do a free daily check-in (or for extra points a bonus check-in that’s can be done on several check-ins) which earns you M3G points.

Bit Avatar: On Linea, this requires an invite code, but you can earn 10 XP a day by performing an on-chain check-in. (I have 10 different one-time use invite codes while supplies last: O8xXKX, 1QP58D, Eo0vZo, T0cZwT, DsHTQA, mWuMbe, owF4OF, uEqU1W, hUMCv3, KVXr6p)

Socialscan.io: Another project on Linea, SocialScan is a community-driven-AI initiative for on-chain labeling which you can also earn points for a daily check-in.

Bladeswap: Built on the L2 Blast, on Blade you can open free daily loot boxes which can provide a variety of different prizes including NFTs, $ETH or $BLADE, depending on your tier.

Velocore: Similar to Blade except on zkSync Era, on Velocore you can also open daily free loot boxes which offer a variety of prizes including NFTs, $ETH, or $VC depending on your tier.

Intract: Similar to Layer3, Intract is a platform that gives you exposure to a lot of different ecosystems, mostly in the form of giveaways and NFT mints. And also like Layer3, they have a check-in you can complete on a daily basis.

Conclusion

There’s countless more projects that I could name where there’s potential airdrops for cheap/free on-chain and/or off-chain activity, but the the ones that I’ve highlighted are personally the ones that I’ve stuck in my bookmark list and do myself.

Are there any projects out there that you’re a part of that you think I’ve left off this list? If so, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.

Please as always, do your own research and find what investments are best for you. Cheers everyone! allocation, but I’m also earning some pretty significant yields on my assets at the same time.
