Lazy, But More Creative

This fake pandemic has somehow made us a bit lazier, more convenient and obedient as well. It has taught us a new type of living and despite being quite painful for some businesses that have suffered from all the absurd measures that some governments have imposed, for some it has been a master and a time of prosperity.

I have a friend who is a tour manager of a Romanian singer and we were talking this evening about how this pandemic has changed the music industry, the entertainment and social events.

Prior to March 2020 they were rocking some 50 events a year and both the singer and he as a tour manager were earning pretty well from such events, but after the pandemic kicked in the man who was performing, signing all these contracts, had to somehow rebrand.

Most of the people living more indoor than outdoor means that the media consumption has increased prior to the pandemic and the guy performing at 50 events a year had to focus more on his online image, youtube brand, spotify account and so on.

For as long as "the outdoor activities" were bringing most of the money in the house he didn't actually bothered that much about actually making a living from creating content for platforms such as spotify and youtube, but once forced by the circumstances he had to adapt and thrive.

Two years in and the man is living quite well off youtube, spotify, online merch and whatever, but he's become somehow lazy as he's turning down some of the concerts, now that the world seems to be turning back to normal and social events are brought back to life, which kind of affects my friend who is the tour manager...

On one hand we have this so called artist that's become more creative and branded himself heavier in the online environment, making more from such a space and on the other he's become lazy in actually performing which makes me consider that the ways of earning a living online are rather making us lazy, but more creative at the same time.

Prior to being able to make a living from crypto I was quite a working man, I mean I was that guy that was doing the extra hour, hustling for more and willing to even relocate for a better job and a better living, but that doesn't apply anymore.

I honestly don't see myself working eight hours a day anymore, I don't even feel like us humans have to work that much. The technological progress that we've gotten to would definitely allow for less work from us humans and more automation that would get the job done.

Lazy, but more creative... that's how I'd call the online content creation generation. It's definitely not easy and you have to constantly be delivering, but when you have no boss, no exhausting schedule and no fixed income it feels like the hustle's worth.

Thinking of Hive and what opportunities are being developed for us here, three words keep on playing on repeat in my head and these are: the age of abundance, courtesy of @taskmaster4450. Just imagine this platform with five-ten games like Splinterlands, a bunch of communities such as threespeak and Leofinance and all the DeFi Leofinance has launched so far.

We're definitely becoming lazier as a species and that can be seen in many working areas, but also more creative and it feels the right thing to do. Have a great Saturday evening and see you to the next post.

Thanks for attention,
Adrian
